Let the Hit of Inspiration Take Over at Any Time!
At 2:30am this morning I awoke with an amazing amount business ideas spilling out of my head at astronomical speeds. In response to my sudden awakening, instead of trying to force myself back to sleep, I sprung out of bed in the freezing cold, jumped onto my computer and immediately recorded the images and words which were flowing. I followed what my head and heart told me to do. Although I was exhausted beyond means, I did not return back to sleep until 5:30am. Some of you may be thinking, is this woman crazy? Why would she sacrifice her sleep at 2:30am in the morning just because her brain is running at a million miles an hour. Doesn’t she have a life? To me, this is not crazy, but rather a business opportunity in it’s rarest form. In other words, I was simply hit with inspiration! I let the hit of inspiration take over. As a proactive business owner, this is definitely one of the best ways to let your ideas flow and let your creativity help you become a successful entrepreneur. In fact, when I was 21years of age and about to finish university, inspiration hit me suddenly on 17th August 2008. In response I resigned from my full-time job immediately without a second thought, I trusted my instinct and started my very first business Inspire Tuition. This was indeed the best decision of my life. I had been waiting for the hit of inspiration exactly 4 years before this day.
So how do you let inspiration guide your business?
1. Document your every idea either in pictures or in words
This morning when inspiration hit me, I used my computer to immediately record what was in my head. I also used a notepad to write down the ideas which my typing fingers could not keep up with and drew diagrams when I could not put things into words. I also took screenshots of everything I found on the internet, pictures, words, other inspirations, basically anything which would remind me what to use to enhance my business. Therefore inspiration should always be documented so that you can always use it later if necessary.
2. Take Action Immediately
Instead of leaving all my inspirational notes on the desk, I immediately put everything into action. As I was inspired to create new content for my Exceptional Training website, I immediately opened up my website content manager and just started to type. I kept refreshing my website so that I could watch as my website came alive more and more by the minutes. I deleted things which my brain also told me to do immediately and I did not hesitate one moment. Therefore inspiration should be used immediately always to ensure your ideas are fresh and you capture your best moments always.
3. Trust your instinct
If you trust yourself, just do it. To be a successful business owner, there is no point expecting others to do everything for you. Simply just do what you want and trust that you have the competency to achieve anything, even when others may doubt you. Listen to your heart and listen to your mind and when both of them come to an agreement, just do it. Some of the best business owners in our history are highly intuitive and it’s because they have the personal confidence and have no problem trusting their instinct. Therefore the key to using your inspiration wisely is trusting your abilities to deliver.
4. Do not hesitate.
If you want to put your ideas to work, do not hesitate. Quickly assess the costs and benefits of a situation and as soon as you discover there are more benefits than cons to your ideas, commence putting your ideas into actions. Remember this, hesitation creates doubts, doubts create fears, fears create no action. Therefore never hesitate in utilising your inspiration.
5. Let creativity guide your way
To be a successful business owner, start to embrace your natural creativity, the way you use to as a child. Remember, the most successful entrepreneurs are not copy-cats, they are innovators. Therefore let creativity guide your way.
